Projects: Zoomorphic Roots

Zoomorphic Roots explores decaying root vegetables and our unique ability as humans to acknowledge and assign personification to inanimate matter. Carl Sagan hypothesized that as a survival technique, human beings are "hard-wired" from birth to identify the face. Pareidolia, the tendency to identify lifeforms in other objects, may therefore be rooted in our very own neural architecture.
